Privacy Policy
Last reviewed: August 2026
Rituelle (operated by Midas Analytics) gives cosmetic guidance on the appearance of your skin. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have — with extra care for the face photos used in a skin scan.
The short version
- We use your data to give you a personalized skincare experience — nothing else.
- We don’t sell your personal informationand we don’t use your face photos for advertising or to identify you.
- Your face-scan photos are sent to a third-party skin-analysis provider to analyze the appearance of your skin, and are then stored privately in your account so you can compare scans over time. You can delete them anytime.
- You can ask us to access or delete your data at any time (see Your rights and choices).
Who we are & how to reach us
Rituelle is operated by Midas Analytics, which is the controller responsible for your personal data. For any privacy question or data request — access, correction, deletion, or anything else covered below — email support@rituelle.ai, or use the options in the app’s Settings.
Face-scan photos (biometric data)
A skin scan uses a photo of your face. Because a face image is sensitive ( “biometric”) data, we treat it with particular care and ask for your explicit consent before the camera opens, separately from agreeing to our Terms.
- Purpose. The photo is used only to analyze how your skin appears and to let you compare scans over time. We do not use it for facial recognition or to identify you, and we do not use your photos to train models.
- Who processes it. To produce your result the image is sent to our third-party skin-analysis provider, which processes it to return appearance findings. It is not shared with anyone else, and it is never sold.
- Storage. Photos are stored privately so you can revisit past scans; they are not publicly accessible.
- Deletion. You can delete your scan photos at any time, and they are removed when you delete your account. See our Data Retention schedule for how long data is kept.
Other data we collect
- Quiz answers & skin profile — your concerns, sensitivity, and lifestyle answers, used to personalize your results and routine.
- Account & contact — your email and first name, used for your results and any updates you choose to receive.
- Usage— privacy-safe events about how the app is used, to understand and improve the experience. Once you’ve given us your email, we may link these events to your account using a random identifier (never your email, name, or photos) so we can understand your experience across sessions and devices.
How we use your data
We use your data to run and personalize Rituelle: to compute your skin profile and appearance insights, build and adjust your routine, let you track changes over time, and — if you opt in — send occasional skincare guidance by email. We do not sell your personal information.
The legal bases we rely on
If you are in the EU, the UK, or another region with similar data-protection laws (such as the GDPR or UK GDPR), we rely on these legal bases:
- Your consent for your face-scan photos. Because a face image is special-category (biometric) data, we ask for your explicit consent before a scan, and you can withdraw it at any time by deleting your photos or your account.
- Performing our contract with you — to provide the skin profile, routine, and features you signed up for, including your account and quiz results.
- Our legitimate interests — to keep the app secure and to understand and improve it with privacy-safe usage analytics, balanced against your rights. These analytics are pseudonymous and you can turn them off at any time (see below).
Service providers we rely on
We work with a small number of trusted third-party providers that process data on our behalf under data-protection agreements, and only for the purposes above:
- Skin-appearance analysis — processes your scan photo to return appearance findings.
- Hosting & secure database — runs the application and stores your data and private photos.
- AI assistant — powers the in-app assistant, using text summaries of your profile and routine, not your photos.
- Product analytics— privacy-safe events about how the app is used. We don’t send your photos, your quiz answers, or your email to it; events are tied only to a random identifier, and we use a provider option that keeps this data in the EU.
Each provider processes data only on our instructions under a data-processing agreement. We can provide the current list of these providers on request at support@rituelle.ai.
Where your data is processed
Rituelle is a global service, so your data — including your face-scan photos — may be processed in countries other than where you live, including outside the EU/UK (for example, in the United States), by the providers described above. Where data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and data-processing agreements with each provider, so your data keeps a comparable level of protection.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data only as long as it is useful to you or required for the purposes above:
- Account data, skin profile, quiz answers, scan insights and photos are kept while your account is active and are deleted when you delete your account.
- You can delete your scan photos at any time; we also automatically remove the photos of accounts that have been inactive for 12 months.
- At our skin-analysis provider, your photo is used only to produce your result and is not retained beyond processing.
- Privacy-safe usage analytics are kept in pseudonymous form, not tied to your identity.
See our Data Retention schedule for the full detail.
Your rights and choices
You can, at any time:
- Delete your scan photos, your account, and all of your data from the app’s Settings.
- Unsubscribe from marketing email.
- Turn off usage analytics in Settings → Privacy.
If you are in the EU, the UK, or a region with similar laws, you also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests (including analytics). Where we rely on your consent — as we do for your face-scan photos — you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email support@rituelle.aior use the app’s Settings; we respond within the time limits the law requires. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (for example, the ICO in the UK, or your supervisory authority in the EU).
